District Governor inspires our club

On Thursday, September 7, District Governor Rudy Garcia visited the Farmville club for a board meeting and regular lunch meeting. At the board meeting, he actively listened to our upcoming plans and asked questions, shared statistics about the club’s membership, and brainstormed ideas for recruiting and retaining new members.

During the lunch meeting, DG Rudy was the meeting’s speaker, and he shared his inspiring belief that “everything that we do in the coming year should be centered around 4 key club areas: MEMBERSHIP, PUBLIC IMAGE, SERVICE and THE ROTARY FOUNDATION. Being intentional about combining these FOUR areas together will enable us to better IMPACT our Communities, REACH more “Rotarians in Waiting”, ENGAGE our Club Members at a deeper more meaningful level and ADAPT our activities and our clubs to become even more relevant to our members and our communities.”

Everyone enjoyed DG Rudy’s visit, and the Key West themed lunch in honor of his home town. In appreciation of his visit, our own Rotarian Anne Tyler presented Rudy with a beautiful ceramic teapot created by her husband, Adam Paulek, Associate Professor – Ceramics, Crafts at Longwood University.
