Meeting needs in Honduras

Farmville Rotarian Patti Wagner has returned to Honduras to take part in her ongoing work there through Friends of Barnabas. She is working with other Rotarians as well, pictured here. Here is her update:

San Pedro Sula, Cortes, Honduras has four very active Rotary Clubs. The Merendon Club is an all female group. They are extremely active around the city and surrounding communities. The club has partnered with Friends of Barnabas on several projects, including the WASH project and a Rotary International grant for the outfitting of a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Ruth Paz for pediatric cardiac surgeries.

The latest project was purchasing beds, table and chairs and some basic home supplies for the family of a special needs patient in the Friends of Barnabas caseload. They lost everything in the hurricanes last fall. I was privileged to be able to go with them to deliver the items to this family. They also brought teaching and therapy supplies for the little girl.

This club is very interested in being a “sister” club with Farmville, working on a project together and/or having some joint meetings to share what we each are doing.
